Muhammad Sami Ullah's Story

Living in a small town of Khushab, Sami Ullah, a 1-year-old little boy, has been experiencing breathlessness and chest discomfort. He also suffers from fatigue. Even a minor activity makes him tired and breathless. Sami looks fragile and cannot gain weight like other children. Upon consultation with a doctor, who ran multiple diagnostic tests, he was diagnosed with Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA), and Pulmonary Hypertension. The doctor has advised open-heart surgery for VSD closure.

Sami’s father passed away a month ago and his mother is going through extreme hardships in life. His grandfather and uncle are farmers with a combined meager monthly income of PKR 40,000. They live in a two-room brick house with a total of seven family members. The family’s monthly expenses include utility bills of PKR 4000, groceries, and other living expenses. They barely make ends meet and are unable to pay for the expensive cardiac surgery he needs.

Sami’s mother expressed her emotions as follows:

“Sami is our little warrior. He deserves a chance to live a life without pain and struggle. We want nothing more than to see him grow up healthy and strong, but we can’t do it alone. Please help us give our son the future he deserves.”

Your donation can make this life-changing surgery possible, giving Sami Ullah the chance to play and enjoy a childhood without the challenges of his heart condition. Please consider contributing today to give Sami the future he deserves.

Muhammad Sami Ullah's Story

Muhammad Sami Ullah, a 1-year-old boy from Khushab, had been struggling with breathlessness, chest discomfort, and fatigue since birth. Even minor activities left him exhausted, and his frail appearance worried his family. Concerned about his condition, they consulted a doctor, who conducted some diagnostic tests and diagnosed Sami with Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA), and Pulmonary Hypertension. These conditions were putting immense strain on his heart. Therefore, the doctor advised open-heart surgery for VSD closure. However, the cost of the surgery was beyond his family’s reach.

Sami lived in a two-room brick house with a total of seven family members. Sami’s father passed away a few months ago and his mother was going through extreme hardships in life. His grandfather and uncle worked as farmers and earned PKR 40,000 per month. With no means to afford the surgery, they turned to Transparent Hands for help. Moved by Sami’s plight, Transparent Hands quickly registered his case.

On November 6, 2024, Sami was admitted to the Ittefaq Hospital in Lahore. The surgery was skillfully performed by Dr. Asim Khan on November 8, 2024, and Sami’s condition began to improve. After four days of post-operative care, Sami was discharged in stable condition on December 12, 2024.

Sami’s mother expressed her heartfelt thanks as follows:

“My son’s health was worsening before my eyes, and I felt helpless. You gave him a second chance at life. I will always be grateful for your generosity. You made a significant impact on my son’s life.”

Today, Sami is recovering well and showing signs of improved health. His family is optimistic about his future and deeply thankful for the support that made his surgery possible. His family is extending gratitude to you and the Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation for saving Sami’s life. You have given him the opportunity to grow up healthy and strong.
