Nazia Javed's Story
For a long time, Nazia Javed, a 44-year-old woman from Lahore, has been experiencing heavy menstrual bleeding. Moreover, she suffers from irregular menstrual cycles, weakness, and pelvic pain. This illness has affected her ability to carry out routine tasks and fulfill her responsibilities as a mother and wife. Worried about her condition, she visited a doctor at a local hospital. After performing a thorough examination, the doctor diagnosed Nazia with Fibroid Uterus. It is a condition in which abnormal growths develop in the uterus. To ease her pain and prevent further complications, the doctor has recommended a Total Abdominal Hysterectomy. Unfortunately, Nazia’s family can’t afford her surgery.
If Nazia’s condition is left untreated, she may continue to experience ongoing symptoms like heavy bleeding and pelvic pain. The fibroids can grow and may develop into cancer. Additionally, there may be other risks of complications such as anemia.
Nazia lives in a one-room brick house with her husband and two children. Her husband is an employee at a private company and makes just PKR 20,000 per month. With this meager income, they barely cover utility bills of PKR 2000, children’s school fees of PKR 3000 as well as other living expenses. After covering their necessities, they are left with nothing to set aside for Nazia’s surgery. Her condition is worsening day by and day and she is bearing this pain and discomfort just due to financial limitations.
Nazia expressed her heartfelt plea as follows:
“I am just fed up with this illness as it drains my energy. I want to get rid of this condition and I pray every day for my recovery. However, we face immense financial hardships and the cost of this surgery is something which we can’t afford. I ask you to kindly contribute to my life-changing surgery.”
