Nida Baber Awaits Surgery to Overcome Abdominal Pain
Nida Baber's Story
Nida Baber, a 26-year-old woman from Lahore, has been suffering from upper abdominal pain for six months. She has a lump in her central abdominal region and received symptomatic treatment for it but got temporary relief only. Over time, her lump increased in size and became more painful. After struggling for a while, she decided to consult a doctor who performed some lab tests and an ultrasound scan and diagnosed Nida with Ventral Abdominal Hernia. This condition occurs when abdominal tissue or an organ protrudes through a weak spot in the front abdominal muscles, creating a bulge. To relieve her pain and discomfort, the doctor advised mesh hernioplasty and abdominal lipectomy. However, Nida’s family can’t pay for her surgery.
Nida is a housewife and her persistent pain often prevents her from performing household chores and caring for her children. Simple activities like prolonged sitting and bending have become increasingly difficult for Nida.
If Nida does not receive this surgery soon, her condition may lead to serious complications such as a strangulated hernia, where the blood supply to the intestine is cut off. This may cause severe pain, infection, and potentially life-threatening damage to her intestines, requiring emergency surgery.
Nida lives in a modest rented house with her joint family of nine members. Her husband and brother-in-law are daily wage laborers and make just PKR 38000 monthly. This meager monthly income is inadequate to cover their house rent of PKR 10,000 in addition to the mounting utility bills and the living expenses of nine family members. They have nowhere else to turn to and arrange the surgery for Nida. During this time of need, Nida turned to Transparent Hands. She contacted us and asked us to register her case.
Nida expressed her heartfelt plea as follows:
“I wish to live a healthy life where I no longer have to go through this discomfort every day. My children suffer because of me. I used to be strong but now I can barely stand for more than a few minutes without feeling sharp pain. I ask for your support. Please help me in undergoing this surgery.”
Transparent Hands has registered Nida’case and we are committed to helping her. However, we can’t do it alone and we request your support. Through your contributions, Nida’s life will change forever.

Nida Baber's Story
Nida Baber, a 26-year-old woman from Lahore, suffered from upper abdominal pain due to a lump in her central abdominal region. Her condition made it difficult for her to perform household chores and care for her children. Despite receiving symptomatic treatment, her condition didn’t improve. She visited a doctor at a nearby hospital. After performing a series of tests and examinations, the doctor diagnosed Nida with Ventral Abdominal Hernia. To alleviate her pain and prevent further complications, her doctor advised mesh hernioplasty and abdominal lipectomy. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery was out of her family’s financial capacity.
Nida lived in a small rented house with her joint family of nine members. Her husband and brother-in-law worked as daily wage laborers and made just PKR 38,000 per month. With this meager monthly income, it was significantly difficult for them to manage the house rent, utility bills, food, and living expenses of nine family members. Nida’s condition was worsening day by day and her family was unable to pay for her surgery. With hope in her heart, Nida reached out to Transparent Hands and asked us for help. After learning about her condition, we quickly registered her case.
On January 07, 2025, Nida was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Lahore. Her surgery took place on the same day. Dr. Ahmed Fawad successfully performed her surgery, giving her new hope and strength. After receiving post-operative care, Nida was discharged in satisfactory condition from the hospital on January 09, 2025.
Nida Baber shared her gratitude as follows: “Living with this illness was a constant battle for me. I was living in fear, worried I would never receive the necessary surgery and live with pain forever. Today, I am healthy, pain-free, and most importantly, happy. Every day feels like a new beginning.”
Nida Baber can perform her household tasks, including cooking meals for her family and fulfilling her responsibilities as a housewife. Nida and her family are deeply grateful to you for significantly changing her life. They will never forget your generosity.
