Nosheen Bibi's Story

Nosheen, a 17-year-old resident of Karachi, has been enduring the distressing symptoms of chronic tonsillitis for the past four years. She experiences recurrent sore throat and fever, making it incredibly challenging for her to focus on her studies and carry out daily activities.

Despite seeking medical attention, her condition has persisted, and her doctor has recommended a tonsillectomy to alleviate her symptoms. However, the cost of the surgery is well beyond the means of her family, forcing them to rely on temporary relief from medications and home remedies. This constant struggle has taken a toll on Nosheen’s mental and emotional well-being, leaving her feeling isolated and disconnected from her family.

Living in a modest home, Nosheen resides with her parents and eight siblings. Her father works as a daily wage laborer, earning a monthly income of 15,000 PKR. Unfortunately, this income is barely sufficient to cover their basic needs, including utility bills amounting to 1,500 PKR. As a result, they are unable to afford Nosheen’s necessary surgical expenses.
