Sheeza Khushal's Story
Sheeza Khushal, a 20-year-old woman from Hyderabad, Sindh, is going through a challenging phase in her life. She is 28 weeks pregnant with her first child. This time is usually filled with happiness. However, Sheeza and her husband are facing fear and anxiety due to both medical risks and financial hardships. Recently, her doctor found a breech presentation of the fetus, meaning the baby is not positioned correctly for a normal delivery. Due to this complication, a C-section has been advised to ensure a safe delivery for both the mother and baby. However, Sheeza’s family cannot afford the cost of this surgery.
Sheeza lives in a small home with her two family members. Her husband works as a waiter at a small food hotel, earning a modest monthly salary of PKR 24,000. After paying their utility bills of PKR 3000 and covering other expenses, they are left with nothing to save for a C-section. With no savings, paying for Sheeza’s surgery is beyond their capacity.
The medical outcomes of ignoring this condition can be very serious. Breech presentation often leads to complicated or prolonged labor. Attempting a normal delivery under such conditions can be risky for the mother and the baby. A timely C-section is necessary to prevent these risks and to give Sheeza the best chance of undergoing a safe and healthy delivery.
