Razia Shafi's Story

Meet Razia Shafi, a 45-year-old woman from Tando Muhammad Khan, Sindh, who has been experiencing pain in her upper right abdominal region for the past four years. Due to her illness, Razia faces difficulty in carrying out her routine tasks. Every meal is accompanied by nausea and vomiting, leaving her feeling weak and exhausted. Worried about her condition, she went to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After performing an ultrasound scan and some lab tests, the doctor diagnosed her with Symptomatic Gallstones – deposition of hard mineral deposits in the gallbladder. To relieve her pain, the doctor has advised open cholecystectomy. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery is beyond her family’s reach.

If Razia doesn’t get the surgery soon, her health may continue to deteriorate due to poor dietary intake. It may lead to severe complications like gallbladder infection, bile duct obstruction, or even organ damage.

Razia lives in a small mud house with her five family members. Her husband, the sole breadwinner in the family, works as a daily wage laborer and makes just PKR 15,000 per month. After covering basic necessities such as utility bills and grocery expenses, they are left with nothing to save for medical expenses. The family faces immense financial hardships and is struggling each day to make ends meet. Razia’s condition is worsening day by day, and they have no option other than to seek help from us.

Razia Shafi said in despair:

“This illness is taking away my energy and comfort. For a long time, I have been unable to spend time with my children. My husband works to the point of exhaustion, but his income covers our basic needs only. I request you to kindly support me in undergoing the surgery.”

This surgery is necessary to relieve her of her chronic pain and discomfort. We have registered Razia’s case and need your support to provide her with life-changing surgery.

We ask you to be generous and contribute for Razia’s surgery. Every contribution, no matter how small or big, can make a meaningful difference in her life.
