Relieve Feroza’s Abdominal Pain with Cholecystectomy

Feroza Abro's Story
Feroza Abro, a 60-year-old woman from Hyderabad, has been suffering from upper right abdominal pain for the past year. What began as mild discomfort soon turned into unbearable pain. Along with persistent nausea and indigestion, her condition has made daily life increasingly difficult. Every meal feels like a battle, and simple household tasks have become challenging. Hoping for relief, Feroza finally visited a doctor. After a detailed evaluation, the doctor diagnosed Feroza with cholelithiasis, a condition caused by gallstones. The doctor advised her to undergo a laparoscopic cholecystectomy. However, this life-changing procedure comes at a cost she simply cannot afford.
Without the surgery, Feroza’s condition will only worsen. The gallstones may lead to serious complications, including infections and blockages that may require emergency intervention.
Feroza is a widow who depends on her son for support. Her son, a hardworking security guard, earns just PKR 18,000 per month to provide for his family of seven. Despite his best efforts, their family struggles to cover basic expenses, including utility bills and daily necessities. With such financial hardships, there is simply no way he can arrange the amount needed for Feroza’s surgery. Watching his mother suffer breaks his heart, yet he feels helpless to provide her with the much-needed surgery.
With teary eyes, Feroza shared her plea as follows:
“I have spent my life taking care of my family, but now, in my old age, I am helpless. This pain has taken over my life, making even small tasks unbearable. My son does everything he can, but we just don’t have the means to pay for my surgery. I don’t want to be a burden on my family. Please help me.”

Feroza Abro's Story
Feroza Abro, a 60-year-old woman from Hyderabad, had been battling with severe upper abdominal pain for the past year. Alongside this, she frequently experienced nausea and indigestion, making it nearly impossible for her to enjoy meals or carry out her daily tasks. Even simple household tasks became difficult, and her condition continued to worsen with time. Determined to find relief, Feroza finally visited a local hospital. After a thorough medical evaluation and diagnostic testing, the doctor diagnosed her with Cholelithiasis—gallstones in the gallbladder, causing blockage and inflammation. To relieve her pain and prevent further complications, the doctor advised a laparoscopic cholecystectomy. However, the cost of this life-changing surgery was far beyond her means.
Feroza is a widow and depends entirely on her son for financial support. Her son works as a security guard and earns only PKR 18,000 per month. He has five children, and his income barely covers their essential needs like food and utility bills. Due to such difficult circumstances, arranging money for his mother’s surgery seemed impossible. With no other options left, Feroza reached out to Transparent Hands for help. Moved by her plea, we registered her case
On April 28, 2025, Feroza was admitted to Isra University Hospital in Hyderabad. Her laparoscopic cholecystectomy was successfully performed by Dr. Aftab Ahmed on April 29, 2025. She received proper post-operative care and was discharged in good condition on May 1, 2025.
With deep appreciation, Feroza’s son said: “My mother was in constant pain, and we had no way to help her. Thanks to your support, she’s finally free from that suffering. She can eat, move, and live without fear again.”
After the surgery, Feroza has regained her strength and comfort. She is once again able to manage her daily life with ease. This relief was made possible by your generous support.
Feroza and her family are truly grateful to you for making a valuable difference in Feroza’s life.
