Najma Jabbar's Story

Najma Abdul Jabbar, a 45-year-old woman from Hyderabad, has been suffering from upper right abdominal pain as well as discomfort for the past year. She frequently experiences nausea and intolerance to fatty meals. Her illness makes it difficult for her to take care of her children and manage her routine tasks. Najma went to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. A detailed evaluation revealed that Najma has Cholelithiasis – characterized by the formation of solid material in the gallbladder. In order to ease her discomfort and pain, the doctor has recommended laparoscopic cholecystectomy. However, the cost of the surgery is out of her financial reach.

If Najma’s condition is left untreated, her health may continue to deteriorate due to poor dietary intake. Moreover, continued intake of medicines will disturb her stomach.

Najma lives in a small mud house with her husband and three school-going children. Her husband is a laborer, earning only PKR 500 to 700 per day. On some days, he returns home empty-handed due to a lack of work. Due to this reason, the family is facing immense challenges. They are surviving in extreme poverty and hardly manage to cover utility bills in addition to food and educational expenses. Their financial constraints make it impossible for them to pay for Najma’s surgery. However, Najma desperately needs this surgery as her quality of life has been badly affected by her illness. During this challenging time, Najma reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help.

Najma said in despair:

“Every meal I eat feels like torture. The pain from my gallbladder keeps me up at night. I am unable to live a healthy life because this pain holds me back. I need surgery to live without suffering, but I have no way to afford it. Please help me find relief.”

With your generous support, Najma can finally get the surgery she has been waiting for. Together, we can alleviate her suffering and allow her to live a happy and healthy life.

Come forward and bring hope and healing to Najma.

Najma Jabbar's Story

Najma Abdul Jabbar, a 45-year-old woman from Hyderabad, had been suffering from persistent pain in her upper right abdominal region for the past year. Alongside the pain, she frequently faced nausea, vomiting, and intolerance to fatty meals. As her condition worsened, Najma decided to seek medical advice. She visited a local hospital, where the doctor conducted a detailed evaluation, including ultrasound scans and lab tests. The doctor diagnosed Najma with Cholelithiasis and strongly recommended a laparoscopic cholecystectomy. However, the cost of this surgery was far beyond her financial means.

Najma lives in a small mud house with her husband and three school-going children. Her husband works as a daily wage laborer, earning between PKR 500 and 700 per day. Unfortunately, his income is inconsistent, as there are days when he returns home without any earnings due to a lack of available work. With school expenses, household needs, and rising living costs, the family was struggling to make ends meet, leaving no room for medical expenses. During their moment of need, Najma and her family turned to Transparent Hands for help. With the support of generous donors, arrangements were made for her surgery.

On April 8, 2025, Najma was admitted to Isra University Welfare Hospital in Hyderabad. Dr. Waseem performed the laparoscopic cholecystectomy successfully on April 10, 2025. After a smooth post-operative recovery, Najma was discharged in stable condition from the hospital on April 12, 2025.

Najma shared her heartfelt gratitude as follows: “You brought light into my dark days. The constant pain that controlled my life is gone, and I can finally smile and care for my family again. Thank you for helping me when I had no one else to turn to.”

Thanks to your kindness, Najma now looks forward to a healthier, more comfortable life, free from the pain that once held her back.
