Muhammad Shakeel's Story

Muhammad Shakeel, a 44-year-old man from Karachi, has been suffering from persistent pain in his right upper abdominal region for the past three years. What began as occasional discomfort soon turned into a daily struggle, accompanied by severe nausea and vomiting. The pain worsens after meals, making it difficult for him to focus on work and perform his daily tasks. After a visit to the doctor, he was diagnosed with Cholelithiasis. It refers to the presence of gallstones in the gallbladder. The doctor has advised him to undergo a laparoscopic cholecystectomy. However, the cost of the surgery is out of his financial reach.

If left untreated, Shakeel’s condition will continue to worsen over time. He may develop severe complications like gallbladder infection, bile duct obstruction, or even organ damage.

Shakeel has a physical disability in one leg and he walks with the help of a stick. He drives a rented rickshaw and earns just PKR 25,000 per month. He lives in a rented house, paying PKR 5000 for rent and PKR 3000 for utility bills. After covering basic expenses, he is left with barely enough to manage household needs. Each day, Shakeel struggles to make ends meet. His financial limitations don’t allow him to pay for this necessary surgery. With nowhere else to turn, Shakeel has reached out to Transparent Hands, hoping for a miracle.

Shakeel said in despair:

“I have spent years bearing this pain while also struggling with my disability. I cannot let my family go hungry, but I cannot continue like this either. Please help me get the surgery so I can live without this constant suffering.”

Shakeel’s future depends on this surgery. With your support, he can finally get the relief he has been waiting for. Let’s stand by him and give him a chance to lead a pain-free life.

Muhammad Shakeel's Story

Muhammad Shakeel, a 44-year-old resident of Karachi, had been suffering from persistent pain in the upper right side of his abdomen for the past three years. What began as mild, occasional discomfort soon turned into a daily struggle marked by severe nausea and vomiting. The pain became more intense after meals, making it difficult for Shakeel to eat properly, focus on work, or carry out everyday responsibilities. Worried about his worsening condition, Shakeel consulted a doctor, who advised several diagnostic tests, including an ultrasound. After evaluation, the doctor diagnosed him with Cholelithiasis. The only way to treat it effectively and prevent further complications was through a laparoscopic cholecystectomy. However, Shakeel was unable to pay for his surgery.

Shakeel lives with a physical disability, relying on a stick for support as he moves around. Despite his limitations, he works hard to make ends meet by driving a rented rickshaw, earning just PKR 25,000 a month. Out of this modest income, a significant portion goes towards paying rent for the house he lives in, leaving little for medical expenses. During his time of need, Shakeel reached out to Transparent Hands. After evaluating his condition and financial background, we promptly registered his case.

On April 23, 2025, Shakeel was admitted to Murshid Hospital, Karachi. His laparoscopic cholecystectomy was successfully performed by Dr. Khalid Shafiq. After receiving proper post-operative care and medications, he was discharged in satisfactory condition on April 24, 2025.

With gratitude in his voice, Shakeel said:

“I am truly grateful to everyone who helped me. For years, I lived in pain that affected my work and daily life. After the surgery, I feel like I’ve been given a second chance. Now, I can live a pain-free life without constant discomfort.”

Since his surgery, Shakeel’s life has taken a positive turn. Free from constant pain and nausea, he has regained his energy and focus. He will never forget your generosity.
