Relieve Shazia’s Discomfort Due to Uterine Fibroids

Shazia Yousuf's Story
Shazia Yousuf, a 49-year-old woman from Karachi, has been fighting a painful condition for the past eight years. She suffers from heavy menstrual bleeding and irregular menstrual cycles that have severely affected her health and quality of life. After suffering from this illness for years, Shazia recently visited a hospital where she underwent various tests and ultrasound scans. After a thorough evaluation, the doctor diagnosed her with Heavy Menstrual Bleeding (HMB) due to Fibroid Uterus — a condition where noncancerous growths develop in the uterus, causing excessive bleeding and pain. To relieve her pain, her doctor has advised her to undergo a Total Abdominal Hysterectomy with Bilateral Salpingo-Oophorectomy (TAH + BSO) — a surgical procedure to remove the uterus, ovaries, and fallopian tubes. However, Shazia’s family can’t pay for her surgery.
If she doesn’t undergo the surgery, Shazia may continue to suffer from ongoing symptoms. The fibroids may continue to grow, increasing pressure on surrounding organs and, in rare cases, carrying the risk of turning cancerous. Additionally, prolonged blood loss may put her at constant risk of developing severe anemia and other dangerous complications.
Her husband runs a small grocery shop, earning just PKR 20,000 a month. After paying PKR 3,000 for utility bills and covering their basic daily needs, they are left with little to nothing. Their children are married and live separately. Shazia and her husband face financial hardships and are unable to pay for the much-needed surgery. During this difficult time, they have turned to Transparent Hands and asked for help.
With a heavy heart, Shazia shared her pain as follows:
“Every day, I pray for relief from this constant suffering. My husband does all he can, but we don’t have the money for this life-changing surgery. I’m tired and worried, and I just want to live a life free from this pain. Kindly help me reclaim my health.”
Your donations can give Shazia the chance to finally break free from eight years of pain and suffering. Together, we can help her find healing and enjoy her life again.
