Sadoori Moor's Story

Sadoori Moor, a 66-year-old woman from Mitiari, Sindh, has spent the past three years in a world that is slowly fading away. Once able to move around her home with ease, she now struggles even to identify faces or objects clearly. Her daily life has become confined and dependent on others. Concerned about her declining vision, her family recently took her to a nearby hospital. After a thorough examination, the doctor diagnosed Sadoori with bilateral cataract, with her right eye more severely affected than the left. A cataract causes the natural lens of the eye to become cloudy, blocking light and blurring vision. The doctor has recommended Phacoemulsification with Intraocular Lens (Phaco + IOL) surgery for her right eye to restore her sight.

Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery is beyond her family’s means. Without timely treatment, the cataract may continue to worsen, ultimately leading to complete blindness.

Sadoori is a widow who lives in a small mud house with her family. Her household is solely supported by her son, who works hard as a daily wage laborer and earns a modest income of PKR 30,000 each month. This amount barely covers the needs of his six family members, including his three children, leaving nothing for his mother’s treatment.

With tears in her eyes, Sadoori said:

“My fading vision has left me dependent on others for everything. I long to see my family clearly and care for myself again. We cannot afford this surgery on our own. I humbly request you to help me regain my sight and bring light back into my life.”

This surgery is essential not only to restore Sadoori’s vision but also to help her reclaim her independence and dignity. Your kind support can change her life, freeing her from darkness and despair.
