A forty years old resident of Bahawalpur, Riaz Ahmed has been enduring severe joint pain for the last year and a half. He went for a consultation and was prescribed symptomatic treatment. The symptomatic treatment did not quite work for him. After further evaluation and some diagnostic tests, Riaz Ahmed was diagnosed with Bilateral Hip joint pain. Both sides of his hip joints had Avascular Necrosis (AVN) secondary to Osteoarthritis. But, his right joint was more affected and needed immediate replacement. The Orthopaedic surgeon suggested a right Total Hip Replacement for him.

Riaz was working as a Rickshaw driver. Riaz Ahmed has fallen prey to this disease and hasn’t been able to move or work anymore. He has a family of seven. His son is the only breadwinner of the family. Since Riaz has not been able to work anymore due to his health condition, it is impossible for him to afford the cost of this surgery. Riaz Ahmad's Story

Riaz Ahmed, a 40-year-old resident of Bahawalpur, had been bearing the pain in his hip joints for the last one and a half years. Upon consultation, he was diagnosed with Bilateral Avascular necrosis. The doctor advised him to undergo a Total Hip Replacement. He was sent to Central Park Teaching Hospital Lahore to get his right Cemented Total Hip Replacement by Dr. Umair Abubakar Baz on 11-12-2021. The hospital kept him under observation until he was seen progressing well. He was discharged after nine days of hospital stay in satisfactory condition. Riaz has now recovered.
