Muhammad Safeer, aged 56, a resident of Taxila, has been enduring the pain and discomfort in breathing and severe pain in his nose for the last ten years. When he couldn’t bear this condition any more, he went to a hospital for consultation. There he was diagnosed with Deviated Nasal Septum (DNS). It is the deviation of Nasal Septum from the centre of the Nasal Cavity.
Septoturbinoplasty, or alternatively submucous septal resection and septal reconstruction, is a corrective surgical procedure done to straighten a deviated nasal septum.
Safeer works as a taxi driver. He is the only supporter of the family and they have no financial assistance from anybody. He merely earns PKR. 15,000 per month. He cannot afford his surgery with this little income. While speaking to one of our medical team officers, he shared his distress with us in the following manner:
“ I have been suffering from this condition for a long time But it has gotten worse now and it is affecting my work. Due to this breathing problem, I couldn’t even drive my taxi. I am worried about my family that if I cannot work then who will provide for them?”

Muhammad Safeer's Story
Muhammad Safeer, a 56-year-old resident of Taxila had been suffering from nasal obstruction for the last ten years. Upon consulting an ENT specialist and going through multiple diagnostic tests, Safeer was diagnosed with Deviated Nasal Septum with Inferior Turbinate Hypertrophy. The doctor advised him to undergo Septoturbinoplasty. Therefore, he was sent to Maryam Memorial Hospital, Rawalpindi, to get his procedure done on 23-12-2021 by Dr. Nasheed Baig. His surgery was performed successfully and he was discharged the following day in satisfactory condition.
