Muhammad Umer was born with a deadly heart disease. He is just a one-year-old baby but he has suffered more than many adults do in a lifetime. Only you can save Muhammad Umer’s heart. Therefore, we request you to please donate generously for Muhammad Umer’s VSD closure.
Muhammad Umer lives with his distressed parents in Dera Ismail Khan. He has been suffering from chest pain and fever since birth. His parents took him to the hospital for a checkup. The doctor suggested some tests and X-rays. After seeing the results, the cardiologist diagnosed him with Doubly committed subarterial VSD (DCSA-VSD), also known as infundibular VSD with pulmonary hypertension (PHT). In Infundibular VSD, the aortic cusp (right cusp) is sucked into the defect (VSD: a hole in the walls of the heart) due to a systolic venturi effect that sucks the cusp when the heart contracts.
Upon consultation, the cardiologist advised an open heart surgery for VSD closure for him. Unfortunately, Umer’s parents cannot afford the hefty cost of the surgery. Umer’s father hardly manages to earn PKR 20,000 per month. With this income, he barely manages to take care of the household expenses and utility bills. In these circumstances, he is in no position to arrange for Muhammad Umer’s VSD Closure surgery. Umer’s mother shared her distress:
“My son was born with this deadly heart disease. I couldn’t bear to see my innocent baby in pain. We want to help him win this battle, but we need the support of a generous donor to do so. Please help us.”

Muhammad Umer's Story
One-year-old Muhammad Umer, a resident of Sukkur, was suffering from repeated episodes of chest infection. His parents took him to the hospital and he was diagnosed with VSD (ventricular septal defect). The doctor advised him to undergo VSD closure. For this purpose, he was sent to Ittefaq Hospital. His open heart surgery was performed on 23-03-2022 by Dr. Mohammad Asim Khan. Muhammad Umer was discharged after one week of hospital stay. Because of your generous contribution and the help of the Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation aid, Umer is feeling much better now.
