Meet Rehana Mai, a 2-year-old girl from Ghotki, Sindh, who has been struggling with severe health issues since birth. She experiences breathlessness, chest discomfort, and her skin and lips often turn blue, a clear sign of low oxygen in her blood. Even simple activities like crying, laughing, or playing leave her gasping for air and completely exhausted. Concerned by her ongoing symptoms, her parents took her to a local hospital for medical evaluation. After running some diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed her with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF)—a complex congenital heart defect.

To correct this life-threatening condition, the doctor has recommended open-heart surgery via the Rastelli Procedure. However, the cost of this life-saving surgery is beyond the means of her family. Without timely surgical intervention, Rehana’s condition will only get worse. It may lead to irreversible heart damage, heart failure, or even sudden death.

Rehana lives in a small brick house with her joint family of eleven members. Her father is an Imam at a local Mosque, and her grandfather is a Quran teacher. Together, they earn about PKR 30,000 per month. This modest income supports the entire extended household, covering essential expenses. Often, they face difficulty in putting food on the table, paying utility bills, and managing living expenses. Amid these financial struggles, arranging money for such an expensive surgical procedure is simply impossible for them.

With tears in his eyes, Rehana’s father said:
