Muhammad Hussain, a 1-year-old boy from Okara, has been struggling to breathe since the day he was born. His chest often rises and falls rapidly, a visible sign of the discomfort he bears every day. Unlike other children of his age, Hussain is unable to gain a healthy weight. His parents often watch helplessly as he battles with breathlessness, unable to play, eat, or rest like other toddlers. Upon evaluation and advanced diagnostic testing at a local hospital, Hussain was diagnosed with Mitral Atresia, a small left ventricle (LV), and Mixed Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Connection (TAPVC). These conditions severely obstruct the normal blood flow and oxygenation in his body. His doctor has recommended a Bidirectional Glenn (BDG) procedure and Septectomy to treat his heart defects.

If Hussain does not undergo this critical surgery, his condition will continue to deteriorate. He may face worsening breathlessness, developmental delays, and heart failure.

Hussain lives in a modest home with his four family members. His father is a laborer who earns just PKR 25,000 per month. This income is barely enough to cover basic living expenses, including utility bills of PKR 2,500 as well as food expenses. They face financial hardships, with nothing left to spare for the costly heart surgery. During this time of need, they have turned to Transparent Hands and asked for help. Hussain’s parents said in despair:

“We live each day in fear, watching our baby boy struggle to breathe and grow. It breaks our hearts to see him in such pain, knowing we can’t afford his surgery. Kindly save Hussain’s life. Your support is our only hope for his survival and future.”
