Shehnaz Needs Cholecystectomy to Overcome Pain

Shehnaz Bibi's Story
Shehnaz, a 40-year-old woman from Karachi, has been experiencing right upper abdominal pain for the past three years. Her illness is accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and indigestion of fatty meals. For Shehnaz, it has become significantly challenging to carry out her daily tasks and care for her children. After consuming medicines for a long time, she decided to consult a specialist, who performed a thorough examination and diagnosed her with Cholelithiasis. These are hard mineral deposits that form in the gallbladder. To relieve her pain and discomfort, her doctor advised cholecystectomy. Unfortunately, Shehnaz’s family is unable to pay for the surgery.
If Shehnaz’s condition is left untreated, her health may keep getting worse because of her poor diet. Additionally, ongoing medications will upset her stomach, preventing her from enjoying healthy meals.
Shehnaz lives in a two-room rented house with her husband and four children, three of whom are currently studying. Her husband, the sole breadwinner in the family, is a daily wage laborer and makes just PKR 37,000 per month. They hardly manage to cover house rent of PKR 10,000, utility bills amounting to PKR 5000 as well as educational expenses of PKR 3000 per month. Furthermore, they are weighed down by a loan of PKR 150,000, which makes affording the necessary surgery impossible. During this time of need, Shehnaz reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for assistance.
Shehnaz shared her emotions as follows:
“I want to live fully again, without the constant pain that has taken over my life. Your support can give me that chance, helping me heal and find joy once more. I request you to please contribute for my surgery.”
Shehnaz is counting on your kindness. Your generosity can provide her with the necessary health care that will enable her to eat without the fear of indigestion, nausea, and vomiting.

Shehnaz Bibi's Story
Shehnaz Wisal, a 40-year-old woman from Karachi, had been suffering from pain in her upper abdominal region for the past three years. She faced intolerance to fatty meals and was unable to enjoy meals. She received medical treatment, but didn’t find relief. After suffering for a while, she decided to consult a specialist, who conducted an ultrasound scan and some lab tests and diagnosed her with Cholelithiasis. To treat this issue and prevent potential complications, the doctor advised laparoscopic cholecystectomy. However, the cost of the surgery was overwhelming for her family.
Shehnaz lived in a modest rented home with her husband and four children. Her husband, the sole provider for the family, worked hard as a daily wage laborer and made just PKR 37,000 per month. From this income, they barely covered their house rent, utility bills, as well as other children’s school fees. Due to their financial constraints, paying for Shehnaz’s surgery was impossible for the family, who struggled hard to make ends meet. After bearing this discomfort for a long time, a day came when a well-wisher told her about Transparent Hands. After assessing her condition, we promptly registered her case.
On February 16, 2025, Shehnaz was admitted to Murshid Hospital in Karachi. On the same day, her surgery was remarkably performed by Dr. Mariam. She received proper post-operative care and was discharged in stable condition from the hospital on February 17, 2025.
Shehnaz was overjoyed and said:
“I can't put into words how much relief I feel now. I am happy that now I can eat meals without experiencing nausea and vomiting. I will forever remain grateful for your kindness and generosity. You truly changed my life.”
After the successful surgery, Shehnaz’s quality of life has significantly improved. You have turned her worries into peace of mind, fear into strength, and discomfort into happiness.
Shehnaz and her family are immensely grateful to you for making a valuable impact on her life.
