Sher Nawaz's Story

Sher Nawaz awaits prosthesis placement. Before you read Sher Nawaz’s sad tale, remember that your donations can make a difference in his life. We strongly encourage our supporters to contribute generously to this cause.

Sher Nawaz, a forty years old man, living in Swat, has been a victim of misery for many years. Twenty five years ago, a tragedy struck his life. He was hit by a truck and his leg was crushed on the spot. Locals rushed him to the hospital, where physicians opted to amputate his left leg above the knee level after assessing him. After healing, the doctor advised him to get an above knee level prosthesis. He somehow managed to get a prosthetic leg and has been using it since. Now his Prosthetic leg has worn out and needs to be replaced as he is having difficulty using it.

He found out about Transparent Hands through the hospital staff where he went for his checkup. He immediately contacted us for help.

Sher Nawaz works as a tailor with someone and merely earns PKR. 15000 a month. Since his Prosthetic leg is worn out, he has been unable to work. With a number of 9 dependents, including his parents, two sisters, wife and three children to look after, he hardly manages to put food on the table. He shared his distress with Transparent Hands in the following manner:

“I have nine dependants and a meager salary. Do I put food on the table or provide them with their basic needs? My choices are as difficult as my life is. I have never thought about getting a new prosthesis because I could never afford one until it was completely worn out and It was difficult for me to even walk.”

Now that Sher Nawaz has been connected with Transparent Hands, we have registered his case and we are determined to help him walk again. Together our assistance can enable him to continue supporting his family. None of this will be possible without your constant support and donations. As, Sher Nawaz awaits Prosthesis Placement, we urge you to please contribute as much as you can to play your part in making him live normally.

Sher Nawaz, a 40-year-old resident of Sawat, had an accident 25 years ago. His left leg was badly injured. He was rushed to the hospital. For this purpose, Sher Nawaz was sent to Hope Rehabilitation Center where he received his new artificial leg. The placement was done by Dr. Khalid Niazi on 29.12.2021.
