Sidra Awaits Cataract Surgery
Sidra Fiaz's Story
Sidra Fiaz, a 22-year-old resident of Muzaffargarh, has been facing the challenges of cataract in her left eye for the past two years. Upon consultation, her doctor recommended left phaco and intraocular lens (IOL) surgery to address her condition and restore her vision.
Sidra resides in her own house in a village in Muzaffargarh, living with her parents, three brothers, and three sisters. Her father, a laborer, earns approximately PKR 19,000 per month. However, with utility bills amounting to PKR 800, school fees of PKR 2,000, and other expenses, it becomes increasingly difficult for her father to afford the necessary surgical procedure.
Sidra’s heartfelt plea echoes with sadness:
“Every day, I face the challenges of impaired vision, yearning to see clearly and experience the world around me. It would mean the world to me and my family if I could regain my sight. I humbly reach out to you, hoping for your assistance in this difficult situation.”

Sidra Fiaz's Story
Sidra Fiaz, a 22-year-old young woman from Muzaffargarh, had been suffering from short-sightedness for two years. With time, her vision deteriorated until she could barely see with her left eye. Simple activities such as walking around the home, and performing routine tasks became time-consuming and challenging for her.
Sidra went to a nearby hospital and consulted a doctor. After a thorough examination and evaluation, the doctor diagnosed her with a cataract in her left eye. To restore her vision, the doctor advised left Phacoemulsification (Phaco) with Intraocular Lens (IOL) implantation. However, her family simply couldn’t afford the surgery. Sidra lives in a small mud house with her siblings and parents. Her father, the sole breadwinner in the family, works as a daily wage laborer and makes PKR 19000 monthly. With seven family members to support, alongside covering the household bills and living expenses, paying for the costly surgery was a distant dream for Sidra’s father. During this challenging time, Sidra’s parents learned about Transparent Hands. We listened to their concerns and registered Sidra’s case. On June 21, 2024, Sidra Fiaz underwent Left Phaco + IOL surgery at Bakhtawar Amin Memorial Hospital, Multan. The procedure was performed by Dr. Hassan Raza. He skillfully removed the cataract and implanted the intraocular lens, restoring Sidra’s vision in her left eye. Sidra expressed her happiness as follows: “Every day was a struggle for me as I lost my sight at a young age. I never imagined that I would ever be able to get rid of this issue. But you turned this impossible dream into reality. I am extremely thankful for your kindness as you supported me in this time of need.” The successful cataract surgery has turned her once blurry and dull surroundings into sharp and vibrant ones. It has not just restored her eyesight but also helped her reclaim her life. All this was made possible just because of your donations. You have turned her dark world into a clear and bright one, filled with endless possibilities. From the bottom of our hearts, we extend our deep gratitude to you. Thanks for being there for her!
