Ansar’s Radiotherapy Session was Successful
19 Mar 2024
Muhammad Ansar, a 46-year-old resident of Lahore, faced a significant health challenge when he discovered a persistent ulcer on the left lateral border of his tongue. Over two years, the ulcer grew in size, causing great concern for Ansar. Seeking medical assistance, he underwent an incisional biopsy on October 20, 2023. Unfortunately, the histopathological report confirmed his worst fears: Ansar was diagnosed with well-differentiated squamous carcinoma of the tongue, a form of oral cancer.
Understanding the gravity of the situation, Ansar’s doctor recommended two crucial surgeries: tumor resection and neck dissection. These surgeries were performed by a skilled surgeon on November 1, 2023, with the support of Transparent Hands, a charitable organization dedicated to providing medical assistance. The impact of the surgeries was profound for Ansar as they successfully addressed his oral cancer, offering hope for a healthier future.
However, to ensure a complete recovery, Ansar’s doctor advised him to undergo adjuvant radiation therapy. This additional treatment was essential to maximize the chances of long-term remission and prevent the recurrence of cancer cells. Unfortunately, the weight of his responsibilities, coupled with the financial burden, made it impossible for Ansar to afford the expenses associated with the necessary radiation therapy.
Recognizing the urgency and importance of Ansar’s situation, Transparent Hands once again stepped in to support him. Understanding the critical nature of his condition, the organization promptly mobilized its resources and launched a fundraising campaign to secure the necessary funds for the radiation therapy. Through the collective efforts of compassionate individuals and generous donors, the required financial support was successfully obtained.
Ansar was admitted to the Combined Military Hospital in Lahore, where he underwent adjuvant radiation therapy. This crucial treatment aimed to target any remaining cancer cells and reduce the risk of recurrence. Ansar is immensely grateful to Transparent Hands and all the donors who played a vital role in his healing journey. Their support not only provided him with the necessary medical interventions but also gave him hope, relief, and the opportunity for a healthier future.
Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full.
