Support Irum’s Foot Prosthesis
Irum Ehsan's Story
Irum has been through a lot of physical and emotional pain over the last few years, due to the loss of her right leg. Despite her disability, she lives with her family and has taken on many household responsibilities, which have become increasingly challenging for her to manage on her own. As a result, she often has to seek help from others to perform daily tasks, which can be frustrating and demoralizing. To regain her independence and improve her quality of life, She urgently requires foot prosthesis. We appeal to your kind support in assisting her to acquire the necessary prosthetic foot and help her to live a more fulfilling life. We urge you to support Irum’s foot prosthesis without delay.
Irum, a 32-year-old resident of Lahore, has a medical history of ANCA-associated vasculitis, a type of autoimmune disorder that causes inflammation and damage to blood vessels in the body. This condition led to gangrene in her right leg. Irum initially visited a rheumatologist for her condition, who then referred her to an orthopedic surgeon. Due to the severity of her condition, her right leg had to be amputated. In 2022, she received her first prosthesis through Transparent Hands. However, the prosthesis has now worn out and Irum requires a replacement for her right ankle and foot.
She lives with her three siblings in a small house. Her brother is the only earning hand in the family and earns just PKR 35,000. Her brother is not in a stable financial situation to pay for the prosthesis. Irum said it in a depressed tone:
“I am currently experiencing persistent feelings of depression and anxiety, which are causing a great deal of distress in my life. In order to overcome this suffering, I am seeking your help in acquiring a foot prosthesis, which would significantly improve my quality of life.”
Her case has been registered with Transparent Hands, and we are determined to help her get back on her feet. Therefore, we urge you to be generous and donate as much as you can. Be the hope for this woman awaiting a life-changing prosthesis. Please support Irum’s foot prosthesis and help her walk again, as well as ease her physical suffering.
