Kaneez Fatima's Story

Kaneez Fatima, a 42-year-old resident of Lahore, has been struggling with acute pain in her upper abdomen for the past two months. Despite seeking symptomatic treatment, her condition has worsened, and the pain has become increasingly unbearable.

Upon consultation, Kaneez’s doctor advised her to undergo various tests and an ultrasound. The results revealed that she was suffering from symptomatic gallstones, a condition that required surgical intervention. The doctor recommended an open cholecystectomy, a procedure to remove her gallbladder.

However, Kaneez’s family is facing significant financial constraints. Her husband, a daily wager, earns a monthly income of just 30,000 PKR. They live in a rented house, paying 7,000 PKR in rent and an additional 2,500 PKR in utility bills. With this limited income, they struggle to make ends meet, and the prospect of affording the surgical expenses is simply out of reach.

Kaneez said in despair:

“I am reaching out to you hoping to find the financial assistance I desperately need. For the past two months, I have been in excruciating pain due to my gallstone condition. The doctor has advised me to undergo an open cholecystectomy, but the cost of the surgery is beyond our means. I am truly grateful for any support you can provide.”

Kaneez and her family have reached out to Transparent Hands. They are hopeful that you will support them during this challenging time and cover the cost of Kaneez’s open cholecystectomy surgery. Kaneez Fatima's Story

Kaneez Fatima, a 42-year-old resident of Lahore, had been suffering from severe abdominal pain for two months. Despite seeking initial treatment, her condition only worsened, and the pain became increasingly unbearable.

Upon consultation, Kaneez's doctor ordered various tests, including an ultrasound. The results revealed that she was suffering from symptomatic gallstones, a condition that required surgical intervention. The doctor recommended an open cholecystectomy, a procedure to remove her gallbladder.

However, Kaneez's family was facing significant financial constraints. With a limited income, they struggled to make ends meet, and the prospect of affording the surgical expenses was simply out of reach. Kaneez and her family reached out to the Transparent Hands organization for assistance.

Transparent Hands, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing medical aid to those in need, stepped in to help Kaneez. They admitted her to the Lahore Care Hospital, where Dr. Ahmed Fawad, a skilled and experienced surgeon, successfully performed the open cholecystectomy on June 6, 2024.

The surgery was a complete success, and Kaneez was discharged from the hospital shortly after, relieved of the debilitating abdominal pain that had plagued her for months. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Transparent Hands organization and all the donors who contributed to her treatment, without whom she would not have been able to afford the necessary medical care.

Through the compassionate and efficient assistance of donors, Kaneez was able to regain her health and her quality of life, providing her and her family with a much-needed reprieve from the financial and physical burdens they had been facing.
