Lal Sherin's Story

Lal Sherin, a 66-year-old resident of Karak, has been experiencing persistent pain in his right upper abdomen for the past three years. Despite seeking medical assistance from local doctors and taking medications, he has only experienced temporary relief from his symptoms. Concerned about his condition, Lal Sherin consulted a doctor, who diagnosed him with cholelithiasis, commonly known as gallstones, and advised him to undergo a laparoscopic cholecystectomy.

Living in a two-room house in Karak with his wife and five children, Lal Sherin faces the challenge of being unemployed and the head of his family. His son is the sole earner in the family and earns a monthly income of 32,000 PKR.  Due to the dire financial situation, Lal Sherin feels helpless and trapped in his circumstances. He is unable to pay for the surgical procedure required to alleviate his pain and improve his quality of life. Lal Sherin’s son, burdened with daily expenses, grocery bills, and utility bills amounting to 2,000 PKR, is unable to provide the necessary funds for his father’s surgery.
