Mustafa Khan 's Story

Mustafa Khan has been living in a world of silence due to his hearing loss. He is unfamiliar with the everyday sounds we often take for granted. Fortunately, there is hope to change his circumstances. Unfortunately, his parents face financial limitations that prevent them from affording the much-needed cochlear implant surgery that would grant him the gift of hearing. By contributing just $10, you can help turn his dream of hearing into a reality. Support Mustafa’s Cochlear Implant Surgery, paving the way for a future filled with limitless opportunities.

Five-year-old Mustafa Khan, a resident of Rawalpindi,  was born without the ability to hear. His parents noticed this and took him to the hospital for a consultation when he was a year old. After a thorough evaluation and some diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed him with sensorineural hearing loss. They have advised him to undergo cochlear implant surgery, which will enable him to hear. With the help of a cochlear implant device, he will be able to hear and discover sounds for the first time. The device has two components that are installed two weeks apart.

Mustafa lives in a small house with his parents and one sibling. His father is a salesman and earns just PKR 25,000 per month. He has no other source of income. A cochlear implant is an expensive surgery. Due to financial constraints, he is unable to afford the surgical expenses. His father said in a depressed tone:

“It is truly heartbreaking to witness the blank expression on his face, unable to express himself due to his inability to hear. I deeply desire to assist him in any possible way, but regrettably, my current financial circumstances do not permit it. Your generous financial contribution would provide him with the precious gift of hearing, enabling him to engage with the world and form social connections.”

Mustafa’s parents found out about Transparent Hands through word of mouth and contacted us to register his case. We can provide him with the surgery he needs as soon as we get your financial contribution. Support Mustafa’s cochlear implant surgery and allow him to live his life to the fullest.

Mustafa Khan 's Story

Five-year-old Mustafa Khan, a resident of Rawalpindi,  was born without the ability to hear. His parents noticed this and took him to the hospital for a consultation when he was a year old. After a thorough evaluation and some diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed him with sensorineural hearing loss. They have advised him to undergo cochlear implant surgery, which will enable him to hear.  Unfortunately, his family was not in a stable financial situation to pay for the surgery. They contacted Transparent Hands for financial assistance.

Mustafa was admitted to Ali Medical Complex, Islamabad, where Dr. Jawad skillfully performed the cochlear implant surgery on 26-06-2023. The doctor was able to fix the cochlear implant's internal component, and the procedure was successful. He was discharged from the hospital the next day. However, before his hearing was fully recovered, he still had a long way to go. After a few weeks, he visited the hospital again, where the cochlear implant's external component was fixed, enabling him to experience the world of sound.

Mustafa seeks consultation from professional speech therapists to help him improve his language and communication abilities. Through speech therapy, he is able to appreciate language in all its richness. His cochlear implant serves as a gateway to the auditory world, allowing him to hear for the first time and paving the way to better education, more meaningful relationships, and a more fulfilling life. The implant allows him to take an active role in conversations, making him feel more at home in social gatherings. He can form meaningful relationships and share laughter and shared moments with his family, friends, and peers.

Mustafa and his family were able to afford this life-altering operation, and they were thankful for the kindness of donors and the invaluable help of Transparent Hands. The impact of your assistance in giving him the ability to hear will last for the rest of his life.
