Samina Bibi's Story

Samina, a 28-year-old resident of Multan, is currently battling with a cataract in her right eye. This condition has severely impaired her eyesight, causing immense difficulty for both herself and her parents. To alleviate her suffering and restore her vision, Samina urgently requires surgery. However, the financial constraints faced by her family make it impossible for them to afford the necessary treatment.

We appeal to your compassion and generosity to help Samina regain her sight and improve her quality of life. Your donation, no matter how small, can make a tremendous difference in bringing light back into her world.

For the past three months, Samina has been grappling with the challenges posed by her right cataract. Her condition has worsened over time, causing discomfort and significantly impairing her vision. Recognizing the severity of her shortsightedness, her doctor has recommended surgery as the most viable solution.

Samina’s husband works as an ambulance driver, earning a daily wage of Rs. 1000. While he diligently fulfills his role as the family’s sole breadwinner, their financial circumstances remain constrained. The couple has a three-year-old son, and they reside in a modest 3-bedroom house. With the burden of their financial responsibilities, they are entirely dependent on Samina’s husband’s income.

Amid their struggles, Samina’s situation has become increasingly dire. Her impaired vision not only affects her daily activities but also poses challenges to her overall well-being and her ability to care for her young child. The burden of her condition weighs heavily on her and her family.

Samina shares her plea:

“The difficulty I face due to my deteriorating eyesight is overwhelming. It affects my ability to perform even the simplest tasks and care for my young son. I humbly request your support to undergo the necessary surgery and restore my vision. Your donation will bring immeasurable relief to my life and enable me to fulfill my responsibilities as a mother and wife.”

Transparent Hands has taken up Samina’s case, recognizing the urgency and significance of her need for treatment. However, we cannot provide her with the required surgery without your compassionate support.

Your donation will not only help her regain her sight but also grant her the opportunity to lead a life free from the limitations imposed by her condition. Together, let us bring hope and brightness back into Samina’s world.

Unfortunately, the financial constraints faced by her family have made it impossible for them to afford the necessary treatment. Samina's journey towards healing led her to the renowned Bakhtawar Amin Memorial Teaching Hospital in Multan, where she was placed under the care of Dr. Sadaqat Ali, an esteemed ophthalmologist specializing in such conditions. On February 28, 2024, the day of the surgery, Dr. Sadaqat skillfully performed the delicate procedure, removing the faulty lens that had plagued Samina for far too long. In their place, intraocular lense was implanted, offering hope for the restoration of her vision to its full potential.

With the surgery completed, Samina embarked on the path to visual recovery.
