Shamim Bibi's Story

Shamim Bibi, a 49-year-old woman from Jhang, has been fighting cancer for a long time. Her struggles began when she was diagnosed with right breast cancer, for which she underwent a Modified Radical Mastectomy (MRM). She also had ovarian cancer and underwent a Total Abdominal Hysterectomy (TAH) along with Bilateral Salpingo-Oophorectomy (BSO) at a local hospital.

However, a new lump appeared on her chest wall. During this time, Shamim turned to Transparent Hands. We arranged her surgery and chemotherapy sessions. Later, she was presented with peritoneal metastasis for which chemotherapy was done through Transparent Hands again. Now, Shamim has been diagnosed with recurrent Ovarian Carcinoma. Her doctor has advised her to undergo another round of chemotherapy. Unfortunately, she can’t afford her treatment.

Without the necessary treatment, her condition will continue to worsen. The disease may spread to other parts of the body and become life-threatening.

Shamim lives with her nephew, who works as a laborer and earns just PKR 20,000 per month. He is the only breadwinner of the family, responsible for providing for Shamim and his three children. With utility bills and daily expenses piling up, the family is struggling to make ends meet. They do not have the financial means to afford Shamim’s life-saving chemotherapy. During this time of need, Shamim once again reached out to Transparent Hands and asked us for help.

With tears in her eyes, Shamim said:

“I’ve been through so much pain, and I want to live a healthy life. I need your help because my nephew cannot afford this treatment. Kindly, help me fight cancer once more and enable me to live a healthy life.”

Your support can make it possible for Shamim to undergo the much-needed chemotherapy. Let’s stand beside her in this battle. Every donation brings her closer to recovery.
