Tanveer Ali's Story
Tanveer Ali, a 3-year-old boy from Tando Muhammad Khan, Sindh, has been suffering from a painful condition for the past year. Since birth, he has had a visible lump in his right groin and an absent right testicle in his scrotum. Over time, the lump has become more noticeable, causing increasing discomfort. Concerned about their child’s health, his parents took him to a nearby hospital, where doctors conducted a detailed examination. After evaluation, he was diagnosed with a right-sided Inguinal Hernia and an Undescended Testicle.
Right Inguinal Hernia is a condition where a part of the intestine protrudes through a weak spot in the abdominal wall near the groin. Right Undescended Testicle means the right testicle has not moved into its proper position in the scrotum. The doctor has advised right-sided Orchidopexy and Herniotomy to correct the conditions.
If left untreated, Tanveer’s condition will lead to severe complications, including hernia incarceration, impaired testicular function, and long-term reproductive health issues. Surgery at this stage is important not only to relieve his current pain but also to ensure his healthy development in the future.
Tanveer’s father used to work as a laborer at a local flour mill, earning around PKR 20,000 per month. However, for the past three months, he has been out of steady work due to a shortage of jobs. He now relies on small daily wage opportunities to manage the household expenses. The family of four lives in a modest, unfinished house with no stable income or savings. They are struggling to cover their basic needs, and affording to pay for Tanveer’s much-needed surgery is not possible for them. With hope, they have reached out to Transparent Hands for support.
