Zulekha Bibi's Story

Zulekha, a 52-year-old resident of Karachi, has been enduring excruciating pain in her right upper abdomen, accompanied by bouts of nausea and vomiting, for the past year. Seeking relief, she initially sought medical assistance from local doctors, who provided temporary relief through medications. However, the symptoms persisted, prompting her to visit Murshid Hospital’s outpatient department. After a thorough examination, the doctor diagnosed her condition as symptomatic gallstones and advised her to undergo Lap Chole Surgery to address her condition.

Zulekha’s financial circumstances add a layer of complexity to her financial crisis. She lives with her husband and five children in a rented house. Her husband works as a tailor and is the sole earner of the family, whose monthly income amounts to PKR 25,000. They live in a rented house, bearing the burden of a monthly rent of PKR 25,000 and utility bills totaling PKR 4,000. Furthermore, Zulekha carries the weight of a PKR 60,000 loan that requires repayment. The relentless pain and discomfort she experiences not only affects her physical well-being but also hinders her ability to contribute to her family’s livelihood.

Distressed by her situation, Zulekha said it in a depressed tone:

“The pain has taken a toll on my health and my ability to fulfill my responsibilities as a wife and mother. I am desperate for relief and the chance to live without this constant agony. Your generous donations can make a world of difference in helping me afford the surgery.”

Transparent Hands has taken Zulekha’s case and is committed to providing her with the best possible treatment. However, this cause can only be accomplished with your support. Even the smallest contribution can bring her closer to a life free from pain. We earnestly appeal to your compassion and urge you to donate generously towards Zulekha’s lap chole surgery, granting her the opportunity to reclaim her health and well-being. Zulekha’s hope rests on the kindness of individuals like you who understand the urgency of her situation.

Zulekha Bibi's Story

Zulekha, a 52-year-old resident of Karachi, had been enduring unbearable pain in her right upper abdomen along with episodes of nausea and vomiting for a year. Initially seeking relief from local doctors, she was prescribed medications that offered only temporary respite. Determined to find a lasting solution, she decided to visit the outpatient department at a local hospital.

After a thorough examination, the doctors diagnosed Zulekha's condition as symptomatic gallstones. They recommended that she undergo laparoscopic cholecystectomy surgery to address the underlying issue. However, Zulekha faced additional challenges due to her financial circumstances, which added to her already existing crisis.

Thankfully, Transparent Hands stepped in and took on Zulekha's case. With the generous support of donors, she was admitted to Murshid Hospital in Lahore. On April 15, 2024, Dr. Khalid Shafiq performed the laparoscopic cholecystectomy surgery, successfully removing the gallstones that had plagued Zulekha's health for so long.

Zulekha's surgery was a resounding success, and she was discharged from the hospital just one day after the procedure. The surgery not only relieved her of the burden of cholelithiasis but also paved the way for her to reclaim her health and vitality, thanks to the support of compassionate donors.

Zulekha expresses her heartfelt gratitude to all the donors who made her surgery possible. Their generosity and kindness have given her a new lease on life, free from the debilitating pain and discomfort she had endured for far too long.

Through their contributions, donors have not only transformed Zulekha's life but also reaffirmed the importance of lending a helping hand to those facing health challenges.
