Zulfiqar Ali Awaits Cataract Surgery
Zulfiqar Ali's Story
Meet Zulfiqar Ali, a 69-year-old man from Lahore, who suffers from a cataract in his right eye. The condition has impaired his ability to experience his surroundings. Due to this condition, he is experiencing symptoms like cloudy and dim vision. The cataract has made simple activities challenging for him, such as walking around the home and watching TV. Zulfiqar consulted with a doctor, who recommended Right Phaco + IOL surgery. It is a procedure to remove the cloudy lens of the eye and replace it with an artificial intraocular lens.
Zulfiqar struggles to see his children’s faces and is dependent upon his family for doing household tasks. He faces difficulty in low-light environments and going outside on a sunny day due to the glare from the light. Due to his deteriorating eye condition, he is unable to provide for his family. Zulfiqar lives in a modest two-room rented house along with his six family members in a rural area of Lahore. The family’s meager monthly income has made it challenging for Zulfiqar to cover the cost of his much-needed eye surgery.
With hope in their hearts, Zulfiqar’s family reached out to Transparent Hands and requested us to register his case.
Zulfiqar expressed his plea as follows:
“I feel like I have lost the connection with my surroundings. My decreased vision has made me dependent on my family. All I want is a clear sight that will enable me to enjoy the golden years of my life. I request you to support me to undergo the much-needed cataract surgery.”
Zulfiqar is afraid to spend the remaining years of his life in darkness. He already feels socially isolated and frustrated due to his deteriorating vision.
Transparent Hands aims to help Zulfiqar Ali in this time of need. We are working to support Zulfiqar but we need your contributions to bring hope and healing into his life.
