Mahnoor Dilshaad, an 18-year-old woman from Lahore, has been suffering from a lump on the front of her neck for the past year. Over time, her lump has increased in size, making it harder for her to eat and swallow food comfortably. Despite taking prescribed medicines, her condition did not improve. Later, the doctors advised her to discontinue them as they were ineffective. Mahnoor’s medical evaluation revealed that she is suffering from Simple Multinodular Goiter (MNG). To prevent further complications, her doctor has recommended a Subtotal Thyroidectomy, a surgical procedure to partially remove the enlarged thyroid gland. However, her family can’t afford her surgery.

Mahnoor’s illness can be life-threatening. If left untreated, it may obstruct the airway, cause difficulty in breathing and swallowing, and may lead to cancer.

Mahnoor comes from a large household of ten members. Her father and brother are daily wage laborers, and it is extremely difficult for them to manage daily expenses. Their household income of PKR 50,000 is already stretched thin between food, utility bills, and other household necessities. With so many dependents and only a small income, the family simply cannot afford the expenses required for Mahnoor’s surgery. During this time of despair, the family turned to Transparent Hands and asked for assistance.

Mahnoor’s parents said in despair:
