Ease Asmat Bibi’s Suffering Through Cholecystectomy

Asmat Bibi's Story
Asmat Bibi, a 45-year-old woman from Lower Dir, KPK, is suffering from pain in her upper right abdominal region. Alongside pain, she also experiences nausea, vomiting, and intolerance to fatty meals. This illness makes it difficult for her to manage her household responsibilities and take care of her child. Concerned about her condition, she went to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After performing an ultrasound scan and some necessary lab tests, the doctor diagnosed Asmat with Symptomatic Gallstones. This condition is characterized by the deposition of hard mineral deposits in the gallbladder. To ease her suffering, the doctor recommended laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
If left untreated, Asmat’s condition can worsen over time. It may lead to dangerous complications such as gallbladder infection, bile duct obstruction, or even damage to nearby organs. These risks make timely surgical treatment crucial for her well-being. However, her family can’t afford her surgery.
Asmat lives with her husband and one child in a modest mud house. Her husband works hard as a daily wage laborer, bringing home just PKR 15,000 per month. With such limited income, they struggle each month to put food on the table and manage basic household expenses. By the end of the month, nothing remains to save for her medical treatment. The family is deeply worried but sees no way to pay for her surgery on their own.
Asmat said with teary eyes:
“I have been living with this condition for a long time. I’m unable to look after my family as I should. My husband works hard, but we cannot afford this surgery. I request you to help me recover and live without this constant suffering.”
