Ease Sahib Khatoon’s Pain with Cholecystectomy

Sahib Khatoon's Story
Sahib Khatoon, a 69-year-old widow from Naushahro Feroze, Sindh, has been suffering from pain in the upper right abdominal region for the past few months. Along with this discomfort, she often experiences dyspepsia and indigestion, especially after consuming fatty meals. These painful symptoms have greatly affected her life. Concerned about her worsening health, she finally consulted a doctor. After conducting a detailed evaluation and an ultrasound scan, the doctor diagnosed her with Cholelithiasis (gallstones). It is characterized by the deposition of hard mineral deposits in the gallbladder.
To treat this issue, the doctor has advised Sahib Khatoon to undergo a laparoscopic cholecystectomy. However, her family can’t afford her surgery.
If left untreated, her gallstones may lead to recurrent digestive problems and complications such as gallbladder infection or inflammation of the pancreas. The condition has already started affecting her nutritional intake and well-being. Surgery is essential to prevent further health risks and to restore her quality of life.
Sahib Khatoon is a widow and lives with her two family members in a small mud house. She depends entirely on her son, who works as a laborer and earns just PKR 30,000 per month. With this limited income, he struggles to meet the household’s daily needs. The family’s financial situation does not allow them to pay for her surgery. These circumstances have left her with no option but to seek help. During this time of difficulty, she has turned to Transparent Hands and asked for support.
Sahib Khatoon expressed her concerns as follows:
“This pain has made my daily life extremely difficult. Even eating meals has become a source of discomfort and worry. I wish to get rid of this suffering, but my son cannot afford the surgery. I humbly request you to help me during this challenging time.”
