Ease Tabassum Ajmal’s Pain with Tonsillectomy

Tabassum Ajmal's Story
Tabassum Ajmal, an 18-year-old girl from Karachi, is struggling with throat issues. She suffers from a throat condition that causes repeated episodes of sore throat and fever. These symptoms have worsened over the years, making it difficult for her to eat, speak, and concentrate on her studies. Despite taking medications, the discomfort continues to return. Recently, she visited a local hospital where a specialist conducted a detailed examination and diagnosed her with Chronic Tonsillitis. The doctor advised a Tonsillectomy to treat her condition effectively. However, her family can’t afford her surgery.
Without this surgery, Tabassum’s symptoms will keep recurring, leading to frequent infections, high fevers, and difficulty in swallowing. Over time, this will severely affect her nutritional intake, academic performance, and well-being.
Tabassum lives in a one-room brick house with her parents and four siblings. Her father works as a driver and earns only PKR 25,000 per month. A significant portion of his income goes towards the children’s educational expenses, which amount to PKR 6,000, and utility bills of PKR 3,000. Their monthly earnings barely cover the basic living needs. It leaves no room to afford the cost of Tabassum’s much-needed surgery. Despite her father’s hard work and dedication, the cost of the surgery is overwhelming for the family to manage without our support.
In search of hope, they have turned to Transparent Hands for assistance. With your support, Tabassum can finally be free from her constant pain. Tabassum shared her thoughts with sadness as follows:
“I’ve been in pain for so long. My throat always hurts, and I can’t focus on my studies. My father tries his best, but he can’t afford the surgery. I request you to help me get this treatment so I can live and study without pain.”
Tabassum’s future depends on this surgery. Only you can provide her with the necessary treatment.
