Enable Hifsa Fatima to Speak

Hifsa Fatima's Story
Hifsa Fatima, a 3-year-old girl from Sargodha, had faced a silent world since the day she was born. Her parents noticed early on that she wasn’t reacting to sounds or communicating like other children of her age. Concerned about her condition, they consulted a specialist and had her undergo diagnostic tests. Hifsa was diagnosed with congenital sensorineural hearing loss, and her doctor recommended cochlear implant surgery to help her hear.
With the support of Transparent Hands, Hifsa underwent her cochlear implant surgery on June 19, 2025. The surgery was successful, and it opened the door to sounds for the very first time in her life. However, she is unable to identify or interpret the sounds as she had never heard them before surgery. To help her bridge this gap and develop speech, her doctor has now advised her to begin speech therapy sessions.
Without timely and consistent speech therapy, Hifsa may continue to face severe delays in language development, communication, and social integration. Timely speech therapy is important in helping her make sense of the sounds around her and develop the ability to express herself clearly.
Hifsa lives in a modest home with her five family members. Her father is a police constable and the only earner in the family. His income is just enough to cover their household expenses. Her family is unable to pay for the speech therapy sessions. During this time of need, Hifsa’s parents once again turned to Transparent Hands and asked for help. Hifsa’s family expressed their emotions as follows:
“Hifsa underwent successful cochlear implant surgery. Now, she needs speech therapy so she can learn to speak and connect with others. However, we can’t afford her speech therapy sessions. We request you to help us during this difficult time.”
