Ensure a Safe Delivery for Rehana Bibi with a C-Section

Rehana Bibi's Story

Rehana Bibi, a 34-year-old woman from Karachi, is currently pregnant with her third child. When she heard the news about her pregnancy, she visited a gynecologist at a nearby hospital. After some follow-up visits and considering her medical history of two C-sections, her doctor recommended another C-section this time as well. She has taken this decision to ensure the safety of both Rehana and her unborn child. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery is beyond her family’s financial capacity.

If Rehana does not undergo the C-section, she may face serious complications such as fetal distress, uterine rupture, or excessive bleeding. These risks can endanger both her life and that of her baby. Therefore, timely surgical intervention is crucial.

Rehana lives in a modest rented home with her husband and two school-going children. Her husband, the sole provider for the family, works as a daily wage laborer and earns only PKR 25,000 per month. With this limited income, it is extremely challenging for them to pay for their house rent amounting to PKR 4000, utility bills of PKR 2000, and educational expenses of PKR 3000. Given their financial situation, they can’t afford to pay for Rehana’s life-changing surgery. During this challenging time, Rehana has turned to Transparent Hands and asked for assistance.

Rehana said in despair:

“I am about to deliver my baby, but the cost of this C-section is something that my husband can’t afford. As a mother, I just want to safely hold my baby in my arms. This is a challenging time for us, and I need your support in undergoing the C-section.”
