Rani Bibi's Story

Rani Bibi, a 75-year-old woman from Lahore, is facing difficulty in seeing clearly. She wishes to spend the golden years of her life with comfort. However, her world is filled with darkness, and she struggles to see her loved ones’ faces. After a thorough evaluation by a specialist, Rani Bibi was diagnosed with bilateral cataract, with her right eye being significantly more affected than the left one. Due to the severity of her condition, the doctor has advised a Phacoemulsification (Phaco) with Intraocular Lens (IOL) implantation for the right eye. This procedure is essential to restore her vision and prevent further deterioration. However, the cost of the surgery is beyond her family’s means.

If Rani’s condition is left untreated, it will worsen over time. It may lead to complete vision loss, and Rani will remain dependent on others.

Rani Bibi lives in a joint family system with her nine children. One of her sons works at a factory, while the other one has a modest job. Their meager income is just enough to cover their basic needs. They barely cover their utility bills of PKR 10,000, educational expenses of PKR 2,000, as well as other living expenses. Due to their financial hardships, they cannot afford the cost of her cataract surgery. She continues to live in partial darkness, dependent on others for her daily needs.

Rani Bibi said in despair:

“I miss seeing the faces of my children clearly. Everything around me feels blurry and distant. I want to live my remaining years with ease, not struggle. Kindly help me get this surgery so I can see the world and be independent again.”

Your support can brighten Rani’s world. Let’s stand together to help her see clearly again and cherish every moment with her family. A small contribution from you can make a life-changing difference.
