Hanifa Chaneser's Story
Hanifa Chanesar, a 49-year-old woman from Hyderabad, Sindh, has been battling with immense discomfort and pain due to a serious health condition for the past six years. A large lump has been protruding from her vagina, causing her continuous pain and bleeding. These symptoms have not only affected her physical well-being but have also deeply affected her emotional health. Her condition has worsened with time, making it increasingly difficult for her to carry out even simple daily tasks.
Recently, Hanifa visited a hospital where a thorough medical examination was performed. The doctor diagnosed her with Uterine Prolapse, a condition where the uterus descends from its normal position into the vaginal canal. The doctor has strongly recommended a Vaginal Hysterectomy, a surgical procedure to remove the uterus.
Without timely surgical intervention, Hanifa may face worsening pelvic pain, urinary issues, and the risk of infections or long-term damage to surrounding organs.
Hanifa lives in a mud house with her husband, two sons, and three daughters. Her husband works as a laborer and earns only around PKR 15,000 per month. Three of their children are currently studying in a government school. The family barely manages their household expenses and has no means to afford the surgery. They are worried about Hanifa’s condition, but they don’t have enough money to pay for her surgery. During this difficult time, Hanifa and her family reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help. Hanifa said in despair:.
“I’ve lived with this pain for six long years. Now it has become unbearable. I want to get better so I can look after my family and be there for them. Kindly help me get this much-needed surgery.”
