Murk Arshad's Story

Murk Arshad, a 24-year-old woman from Hyderabad, is 28 weeks pregnant and eagerly awaiting the birth of her child. While this phase of life should bring her joy and excitement, it has instead filled her with worry. Murk has a history of one C-section. Due to her medical background, her doctor has recommended another C-section to ensure a safe delivery. Unfortunately, the cost of the C-section is overwhelming for her family.

If her C-section is not performed, Murk may face complications such as:

Murk lives in a modest house with her husband and three other family members. Her husband works as a daily wage laborer and earns only PKR 20,000 per month. This meager amount barely covers the family’s daily living expenses. They are facing financial hardships and can’t afford to pay for Murk’s C-section. She and her husband are extremely worried about the outcomes if she doesn’t undergo the surgery.
