Khalida Bibi's Story

Khalida Bibi, a 44-year-old woman from Karachi, is over 20 weeks pregnant. With her obstetric history marked as G5P4A0 and two previous C-sections, she knew the importance of proper care during her current pregnancy. Upon consultation with her gynecologist, she was advised to undergo another C-section to ensure a safe delivery for both herself and her baby. However, the cost of the surgery is overwhelming for her family.

Given her age and medical history, attempting a natural birth may lead to life-threatening complications, including uterine rupture, excessive bleeding, or fetal distress. Her doctor has clearly stated that the only safe way forward is a planned C-section.

Khalida’s husband is a dedicated teacher at a madrassa and earns only PKR 30,000 per month. The couple has four children, all of whom are studying at religious institutions. While the madrassa supports their accommodation needs, Khalida’s husband is still responsible for covering the family’s utility bills, amounting to around PKR 3,000 per month. With the remaining income, he struggles to meet their day-to-day living expenses.

Despite their modest lifestyle, the cost of Khalida’s surgery is beyond what they can manage. Her husband is trying everything in his power to ensure her safety, but the surgical cost is beyond his means. The thought of not being able to afford the necessary medical procedure makes them worried. During this time of uncertainty, Khalida turned to Transparent Hands in the hope of finding support. She said:

“I just want a safe delivery. My husband works so hard, but we are unable to afford this C-section. I request you to help us during this difficult time.”

Khalida relies on your generosity. By donating, you can make her C-section possible and enable her to live a happy life with her family, including her newborn.

Step forward and give generously to provide her with a safe C-section.
