Anum Mai's Story

Anum Mai, a 32-year-old woman from Multan, is currently over 32 weeks pregnant and approaching the final weeks of her pregnancy. She has already experienced the joys and challenges of motherhood, having given birth to four children. However, since she has undergone a C-section previously, her gynecologist has recommended an elective C-section to ensure the safety of both the mother and baby. Unfortunately, her family can’t afford her C-section.

If Anum does not receive this planned C-section, several complications may arise during labor, including uterine rupture, fetal distress, and excessive bleeding. A timely C-section will help avoid these life-threatening outcomes and ensure the safe birth of her child.

Anum is a housewife and is entirely dependent on her husband’s earnings. Unfortunately, her husband is currently unemployed, and the family is struggling to meet even their basic needs. The family spends around PKR 10,000 per month on utility bills and another PKR 10,000 on their children’s educational expenses.
