Make it Possible for Anaya to Win Her Battle Against Heart Defects

Anaya Fatima's Story
Anaya Fatima, a 4-year-old girl from Pakpattan, has been suffering from shortness of breath and chest discomfort since birth. Every time she tries to play or walk fast, she becomes breathless and turns visibly blue. Upon noticing her condition, her parents took her to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After running some essential medical tests, the doctor diagnosed Anaya with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). It is a congenital heart defect that involves four structural abnormalities, leading to reduced oxygen in the blood. Her condition has severely affected her ability to participate in daily activities, and her quality of life continues to decline. The doctor has strongly recommended angiography followed by open-heart surgery for total correction.
Anaya lives in a small house with her parents and six other family members. Her father works as a daily wage laborer and earns only PKR 15,000 a month. The family’s basic expenses, including Rs. 2,000 for utility bills and Rs. 2,000 for the children’s education, barely leave them with enough to survive. Due to their financial hardships, they are unable to arrange money for Anaya’s treatment.
If left untreated, Anaya’s condition may lead to irreversible damage, developmental delays, and heart failure. However, with timely surgical intervention, she can grow up healthy and lead a normal life.
Anaya’s parents reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for assistance. They said with teary eyes:
“It breaks our hearts to see Anaya in pain every day. She cannot run, play, or even laugh without getting exhausted. With your support, Anaya can survive.”
