Mona Akhter Awaits Cholecystectomy to Overcome Pain

Mona Akhter's Story
Mona Akhter, a 33-year-old woman from Hyderabad, has been suffering from pain in the right upper abdominal region. Her condition is accompanied by nausea and an inability to tolerate fatty meals. These symptoms have made it difficult for her to perform her routine tasks. Concerned about her worsening condition, she visited a doctor at a nearby hospital. After undergoing the required tests and an ultrasound scan, she was diagnosed with Cholelithiasis. It is a condition characterized by the formation of hard deposits (gallstones) in the gallbladder.
To restore her health, the doctor recommended a laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Sadly, the cost of this surgery is beyond her family’s means. If left untreated, Mona’s illness may cause gallbladder infection, bile duct obstruction, or even damage to nearby organs. Such complications can increase her pain and even lead to life-threatening conditions.
Mona lives with her three family members in a modest mud house in Hyderabad. Her father is the sole breadwinner, working as a laborer and earning just PKR 20,000 per month. With this limited income, they struggle to cover their food, utility bills, and basic household needs. Due to their financial hardships, arranging money for Mona’s surgery is impossible. During this difficult time, Mona has reached out to Transparent Hands, hoping to receive help.
Mona said in despair:
“For months, I have been struggling with pain and sickness that stop me from living a normal life. Eating even a simple meal makes me feel unwell. My father works hard, but we cannot afford this surgery. Kindly help me recover and live without this constant pain.”
