Ayaz Muhammad Khan's Story

Ayaz Muhammad Khan, a 39-year-old man from Karachi, has been suffering from a painful knee condition for the past eight months. Activities like walking, standing, and performing routine tasks have become extremely difficult for him. His struggles extend to the workplace as well, where he faces significant challenges in performing efficiently. Recently, Ayaz visited a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After an X-ray, MRI and some necessary medical tests, he was diagnosed with a left-sided ACL tear and a medial meniscus tear. An ACL tear refers to the rupture of the ligament that stabilizes the knee joint, while a medial meniscus tear is a painful injury to the cartilage that cushions the knee.

To restore his knee function and prevent long-term complications, his doctor has strongly recommended ACL reconstruction and medial meniscus repair. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery is far beyond his financial means. Without timely surgical intervention, Ayaz risks:

Persistent pain and instability in the knee

Progressive joint damage

Permanent mobility impairment

Ayaz lives in a modest home with his wife and three children. He has a private job and brings in just PKR 35,000 per month. A significant portion of his income goes towards their utility bills amounting to PKR 7000 as well as educational expenses of PKR 6000. After covering these essentials, they are left with nothing to save for Ayaz’s life-changing surgery.
