Relieve Hina Shehbaz’s Pain with Lateral Sphincterotomy

Hina Shehbaz's Story
Hina Shehbaz, a 41-year-old woman from Lahore, has been suffering from painful defecation and constipation for the past year. At times, she also experiences bleeding per rectum. This condition has badly affected her ability to lead a healthy life. She received symptomatic treatment but got temporary relief only. After suffering for a while, she consulted a specialist who performed some examination and diagnosed Hina with Chronic Posterior Anal Fissure. It is a tear in the anal lining, and it causes severe pain during bowel movements. To relieve her pain and discomfort, the doctor has advised Lateral Sphincterotomy. However, the cost of the surgery is beyond her family’s financial capacity.
If left untreated, a chronic posterior anal fissure may lead to severe pain and bleeding. The fissure may deepen, causing recurrent infections or abscess formation. Over time, this can also result in the development of an anal fistula.
Hina is divorced and lives with her mother. Her brother and sister live separately, but they provide some financial support to Hina and her mother. They are facing immense challenges and living a hard life. Managing day-to-day expenses is difficult for her. Due to the financial hardships, she can’t afford her much-needed surgery. During this time of need, Hina has reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for assistance.
Hina expressed her heartfelt plea as follows:
“This pain has become unbearable. I want to live a healthy life again. However, without this surgery, my condition may keep getting worse. I need your help.”
