Restore Umar Din’s Eyesight with Cataract Surgery

Umar Din's Story
Umar Din, a 57-year-old man from Lahore, is suffering from blurry and dim vision. His eyesight has significantly deteriorated, particularly in his left eye, making it difficult for him to carry out his daily activities. Even simple tasks like walking around have become a source of discomfort and frustration. Upon medical evaluation with an eye specialist, Umar was diagnosed with a cataract in his left eye. It is a condition where the eye’s natural lens becomes cloudy. To restore his sight and prevent further complications, the doctor has recommended Phacoemulsification with Intraocular Lens (Phaco + IOL) implantation in the left eye.
His deteriorating vision is not just affecting his ability to earn, but is also affecting his mental well-being and independence. Without timely intervention, his cataract may lead to complete vision loss in the affected eye. Unfortunately, the surgical cost is out of his financial capacity.
Umar works as a laborer, earning a modest monthly income of just PKR 22,000. He lives in a small house in Lahore and is the sole breadwinner for his family, which includes his wife and four children. The family struggles to meet their monthly expenses. A major portion of his income, around PKR 10,000, goes towards paying utility bills, leaving very little for groceries, transportation, and other basic needs.
Due to these financial constraints, Umar is unable to afford the cost of his cataract surgery. During his search for a solution, Umar reached out to Transparent Hands. He said:
“My eyesight is fading, and so is my ability to work and support my family. I want to continue working and taking care of my loved ones. Kindly help me get my eyesight back.”
Umar’s condition is treatable, but only with timely surgery. By donating, you will not only help a man regain his sight but also enable him to live a healthy and fulfilling life with his family.
Donate Sadaqah and restore Umar’s deteriorating vision.
