Sabiha Riaz Needs a C-Section For a Safe Delivery

Sabiha Riaz's Story
Sabiha Riaz, a 40-year-old woman from Karachi, is in her 22nd week of pregnancy. This pregnancy brings both joy and concern for her family. With a medical history of G3P2 and one previous C-section, she is fully aware of the risks that lie ahead. When she visited her gynecologist for a routine checkup, she was strongly advised to undergo another C-section for childbirth. Given her age and history, a normal delivery can put her life and her baby’s life in danger.
However, the cost of the procedure is far beyond what her family can manage. If Sabiha does not undergo the C-section, she may face severe and life-threatening outcomes such as:
Uterine rupture
Obstructed labor leading to prolonged complications
Fetal distress or even loss of the baby
Sabiha lives with her husband and two young daughters in their modest home. Her husband works as a laborer, earning hardly PKR 20,000 per month. Out of this income, PKR 6,000 is spent on their daughters’ school fees and PKR 3,000 on utility bills, leaving very little to cover food and other household necessities. With no savings and no external support, arranging money for her surgery is not possible for them. During this time of need, Sabiha and her family turned to Transparent Hands and asked for assistance.
Sabiha expressed her heartfelt plea as follows:
“My doctor has warned me about the risks. I want to deliver my baby safely, but my husband cannot afford the surgery. We face immense financial hardships. Therefore, I ask for your help so I can be there for my children and welcome the new baby into our family.”
Sabiha is counting on your kindness. Your generous support can save Sabiha and her unborn child from life-threatening complications.
