Save Ahmad’s Life with Heart Surgery

Muhammad Ahmad's Story
Muhammad Ahmad, a 2-year-old boy from Rajanpur, has been suffering from severe breathing issues and chest discomfort since birth. His skin often turns blue due to poor oxygen levels, a condition known as cyanosis. Even simple activities like crying or feeding leave him exhausted and breathless. For his family, watching him struggle to breathe has been a heartbreaking experience.
Ahmad’s mother, deeply concerned for his well-being, took him to a nearby hospital and consulted a doctor. After careful evaluation, the doctor diagnosed him with multiple complex congenital heart defects: Univentricular Heart (UVH), Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA), Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), and Pulmonary Stenosis (PS). These defects severely restrict proper blood flow and oxygenation in his body.
To stabilize his condition and improve his chances of survival, the doctor has recommended Open-Heart Surgery (CP Shunt). This procedure is essential for improving oxygen levels in his body. Without this critical surgery, Ahmad’s condition may worsen, leading to:
Severe growth delays
Increased risk of heart failure
Life-threatening oxygen deprivation
Ahmad lives with his mother in his maternal grandmother’s modest home. His father lives separately and is not involved in his care. The family survives on the earnings of Ahmad’s two uncles, who collectively make PKR 34,000 per month. Their monthly utility bills amount to PKR 5000, and the remaining income barely covers their food and daily living expenses. The cost of this life-saving surgery is far beyond their means.
In her heartfelt plea, Ahmad’s mother said:
“My little boy has never known what it feels like to breathe easily or play like other children. I live in constant fear for his life. I request you to help my son undergo the surgery. Your support can save my child.”
