Sufian Awaits Heart Surgery to Survive

Muhammad Sufian Haider's Story
Three-year-old Muhammad Sufian Haider from Swat has been struggling with shortness of breath and chest discomfort since birth. His daily activities are limited by breathlessness on mild exertion, constant fatigue, and persistent weakness.
Recently, his parents visited a doctor at a nearby hospital. After performing a comprehensive examination, the doctor diagnosed Sufian with a large Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) and Right Ventricular Volume Overload (RVVO). These congenital heart defects cause blood to flow abnormally between the heart’s chambers, placing excessive strain on his heart. To prevent further complications, the doctor has strongly recommended open-heart surgery for ASD closure.
If left untreated, Sufian’s condition may result in:
Irreversible damage to the heart and lungs
Stunted physical and cognitive development
Increased risk of heart failure
Potentially life-threatening complications
Sufian lives in a small rented house with his five family members. His father, a daily-wage laborer, earns only PKR 30,000 per month. After paying the house rent amounting to PKR 7,000 and other household expenses, there is barely anything left to cover medical needs. Due to their financial constraints, the significant cost of the surgery is beyond their capacity. During this moment of desperation, Sufian’s family has contacted Transparent Hands and asked for help.
Sufian’s father said with tear-filled eyes:
“My son has been weak and breathless since he was born. Watching him struggle while I’m unable to do anything is the most painful feeling for a father. I request you to kindly save my son’s life.”
This surgery is crucial to restore Sufian’s health, giving him the strength and energy every child deserves. Your generosity can be the difference between a future of suffering and one filled with laughter and growth.
Be generous and support Sufian’s heart surgery.
