Aaryan’s Cochlear Implant Surgery was Successful

Five-year-old Aaryan, a resident of Muzaffarabad, had been suffering from congenital sensorineural hearing loss. His parents noticed this and took him to the hospital for a consultation when he was a year old. After a thorough evaluation and some diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed him with sensorineural hearing loss. The doctor advised him to undergo cochlear implant surgery. Aryan was admitted to the Ali Medical Center, Islamabad, where Dr. Jawwad skillfully performed the cochlear implant surgery on 06-06-2023. The doctor was able to fix the cochlear implant’s internal component, and the procedure was successful. He was discharged from the hospital after two days. However, before his hearing was fully recovered, he still had a long way to go. After a few weeks, he visited the hospital again, where the cochlear implant’s external component was fixed, enabling him to experience the world of sound.   

The doctor advised Aaryan to seek consultation from professional speech therapists to help him improve his language and communication abilities. Through speech therapy, he will be able to appreciate language in all its richness and nuance. His cochlear implant serves as a gateway to the auditory world, allowing him to hear for the first time and paving the way to better education, more meaningful relationships, and a more fulfilling life. The implant allows him to take an active role in conversations, making him feel more at home in social gatherings.
