Ajwa’s ileostomy stoma reversal surgery was performed
Ajwa Aslam's Story
Two years ago, Ajwa Aslam, aged 4 years, underwent an exploratory laparotomy because of intestinal obstruction. She was diagnosed to have Meckel’s diverticulum – a congenital gastrointestinal defect that had perforated. The doctors made an ileostomy stoma for it. Now, the doctors have advised an ileostomy closure surgery. For this purpose, she was admitted to Akram Medical Complex and the surgery was performed by Dr. M. Bilal Mirza on 19.05.2021. Her exploratory laparotomy for right hemicolectomy and ileocolic anastomosis was done. She stayed in the hospital for five days and was discharged in satisfactory condition. Ajwa has recovered swiftly and is in good health now.
